MARTIN MAYER
Author, The Bankers: The Next Generation

Martin Mayer has been writing about business and financial subjects for more than forty years. Jim Grant of Grant’s Interest Rate Observer wrote in The New York Times that "if anyone knows more about money, banking and investments, that individual is keeping the information to himself." Mayer testifies frequently at the request of Congressional committees and swims in a Washington think tank, The Brookings Institution. His published work includes three novels and the centennial history of the Metropolitan Opera, and he thinks of himself as first of all a story-teller, a presenter of people and what they do.
Topics: Future of Banking • The Markets • Electronic Commerce
"You gave them an all new way to think about some things they’d thought they understood. When word gets round, we’ll have lots bigger attendance next year."
