Debbie Lauer
A One Woman Comedy Revue

Debbie Lauer, one of the founding members of WAVELENGTH, and ROCHELLE RICHELIEU, artistic director, have created a one-woman, hour-long, comedy keynote presentation. FACULTY LOUNGE captures the voices of all who inhabit the educational community: teachers, parents, students, administrators, and a few surprises.

Debbie presents the program along with WAVELENGTH’S piano accompanist. Debbie is a theatre graduate of Colorado State University, and has studied with such comedy notables as Marty Feldman, George Carlin and Jonathan Winters. She possesses a rare gift for physical comedy that has delighted WAVELENGTH audiences since 1980.

FACULTY LOUNGE highlights one week in the lives of five teachers, focusing on the typical challenges today’s educators face. The show tackles such diverse issues as: Authentic Assessment, Block Scheduling, Multiple Intelligences, Educational Burn-Out, Site-Based Management, and Violence/Conflict Management.

As Debbie deftly moves from character to character, your faculty will empathize with some, recognize themselves in others, and be gently challenged to have compassion for all who serve to educate our children.

"You were wonderful! Your humorous yet touching "one woman" show presented so many facets of the teaching field. In a powerful yet entertaining way you reminded us that educators influence and shape the lives of those around us and those we teach."
