Dr. Jim Kern
Understanding Ourselves and Others

In our schools many of us observe kids who are hurting one another, hurting themselves, and assaulting school employees. We note that many kids are making poor choices and generally dropping off the pathways to success. Many kids who could be helped with early identification and intervention programs, are moved instead into our criminal justice system which all too often punishes and imprisons our kids – and in this process create life long losers.

In the past you’ve heard Jim Kern express his beliefs that people – especially kids – are priceless and precious, that differences can be treated as gifts not liabilities, that life involves change which brings stress to many and that our feelings are important. Jim has now prepared a program which identifies kids who would violate the safety of others, those who would hurt themselves in many ways including drug abuse, and those who will become at risk of becoming school drop-outs thus abandoning the success paths we wish for ALL of our people.
