Mark Gerzon
A House Divided

Mark Gerzon is a consultant to communities and organizations specializing in leadership training for public officials who must deal with competing belief systems, interest groups and other community constituencies. In 1997 and 1999, he was selected to design and facilitate the working sessions of the US. House of Representatives' Bipartisan Congressional Retreat. Called an "expert in civil discourse" by the New York Times, Mark is also the author of several books including A HOUSE DIVIDED: Six Belief Systems Struggling for America's Soul and the forthcoming THE DEMOCRACY TOOLBOX: Skills for Civic Leadership.

A House Divided is a dramatic presentation, bringing to life the major themes of his book of the same name, and takes his audience on a journey through America's belief systems. In portraying six characters who represent a microcosm of belief systems "struggling for America's soul," Mark dramatizes through different costumes and musical background many of the critical issues that will continue to face American communities in the 21st century. It is a Keynote performance that is an entertaining as it is vitally important.
